The ECS Volume Consistency Check (EVCC) utility helps you identify any inconsistencies between the Laserfiche database and the physical volumes files. For example, if you experience an issue with your Windows hardware due to a hard drive problem, you may find that there are documents in the Laserfiche Client that cannot be opened. This may be because the file exists in the database, but the actual image, text file, or electronic document may be missing from the volume due to the hardware problem. The utility is used to help identify these problem documents. Once it has been run, you are provided with a report that lays out which Laserfiche entries have missing files, and the location where the missing file is said to have been located.
The ECS Volume Consistency Check (EVCC) utility is designed to be faster and more efficient than other options currently available. For example, other utilities require that you select one volume at a time. This is extremely time consuming if you have several volumes to check as you would have to wait for one volume check to finish before manually starting the next one. The EVCC utility can be run on multiple volumes at once. This is especially helpful if you have rollover volumes.
